JOHN M. DEL TORO
Brigadier General John M. Del Toro is the Commander, Montana Air National Guard, Fort Harrison, Montana. As the Commander, he is integral in moving the Joint Force Headquarters, Montana team towards fully operational capable status. His responsibilities include molding the Joint Staff to respond to any contingency, federal or state, and to incorporate all respective elements of the Montana National Guard, Interagency functions, and governmental agencies in the process as appropriate. His experience as a crew-qualified Domestic Events Officer at US Northern Command/Cheyenne Mountain Operations Center provides valuable expertise and awareness with respect to other national and interagency assets which may be available to the state during responses to contingencies and/or consequence management operations. General Del Toro is a Drill Status Guardsman and is also employed with United Airlines as an Airbus A-320 Captain. He has type ratings in B-777, B-757, B-767, A-320, B-727, and the B-737 aircraft. He assumed his current position in October 2006.
